Moses Is Born^(A)

2 And ^(B)a man of the house of Levi went and took as wife a daughter of Levi. ² So the woman conceived and bore a son. And ^(C)when she saw that he was a beautiful child, she hid him three months. ³ But when she could no longer hide him, she took an ark of ^(D)bulrushes for him, daubed it with ^(E)asphalt and ^(F)pitch, put the child in it, and laid it in the reeds ^(G)by the river’s bank. ^4 (H)And his sister stood afar off, to know what would be done to him.

⁵ Then the ^(I)daughter of Pharaoh came down to bathe at the river. And her maidens walked along the riverside; and when she saw the ark among the reeds, she sent her maid to get it. ⁶ And when she opened it, she saw the child, and behold, the baby wept. So she had compassion on him, and said, “This is one of the Hebrews’ children.”

⁷ Then his sister said to Pharaoh’s daughter, “Shall I go and call a nurse for you from the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for you?”

⁸ And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Go.” So the maiden went and called the child’s mother. ⁹ Then Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Take this child away and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wages.” So the woman took the child and nursed him. ¹⁰ And the child grew, and she brought him to Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became ^(J)her son. So she called his name ^[a]Moses, saying, “Because I drew him out of the water.”

Moses Flees to Midian^(K)

¹¹ Now it came to pass in those days, ^(L)when Moses was grown, that he went out to his brethren and looked at their burdens. And he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his brethren. ¹² So he looked this way and that way, and when he saw no one, he ^(M)killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand. ¹³ And ^(N)when he went out the second day, behold, two Hebrew men ^(O)were fighting, and he said to the one who did the wrong, “Why are you striking your companion?”

¹⁴ Then he said, ^(P)“Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you intend to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?”

So Moses ^(Q)feared and said, “Surely this thing is known!” ¹⁵ When Pharaoh heard of this matter, he sought to kill Moses. But ^(R)Moses fled from ^[b]the face of Pharaoh and dwelt in the land of ^(S)Midian; and he sat down by ^(T)a well.

^16 (U)Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters. ^(V)And they came and drew water, and they filled the ^(W)troughs to water their father’s flock. ¹⁷ Then the ^(X)shepherds came and ^(Y)drove them away; but Moses stood up and helped them, and ^(Z)watered their flock.

¹⁸ When they came to ^(AA)Reuel^[c] their father, ^(AB)he said, “How is it that you have come so soon today?”

¹⁹ And they said, “An Egyptian delivered us from the hand of the shepherds, and he also drew enough water for us and watered the flock.”

²⁰ So he said to his daughters, “And where is he? Why is it that you have left the man? Call him, that he may ^(AC)eat bread.”

²¹ Then Moses was content to live with the man, and he gave ^(AD)Zipporah his daughter to Moses. ²² And she bore him a son. He called his name ^(AE)Gershom,^[d] for he said, “I have been ^(AF)a ^[e]stranger in a foreign land.”

²³ Now it happened ^(AG)in the process of time that the king of Egypt died. Then the children of Israel ^(AH)groaned because of the bondage, and they cried out; and ^(AI)their cry came up to God because of the bondage. ²⁴ So God ^(AJ)heard their groaning, and God ^(AK)remembered His ^(AL)covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. ²⁵ And God ^(AM)looked upon the children of Israel, and God ^(AN)acknowledged them.

²⁵ “When you beget children and grandchildren and have grown old in the land, and act corruptly and make a carved image in the form of anything, and ^(A)do evil in the sight of the Lord your God to provoke Him to anger, ^26 (B)I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that you will soon utterly perish from the land which you cross over the Jordan to possess; you will not ^[a]prolong your days in it, but will be utterly destroyed. ²⁷ And the Lord ^(C)will scatter you among the peoples, and you will be left few in number among the nations where the Lord will drive you. ²⁸ And ^(D)there you will serve gods, the work of men’s hands, wood and stone, ^(E)which neither see nor hear nor eat nor smell. ^29 (F)But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul. ³⁰ When you are in ^[b]distress, and all these things come upon you in the ^(G)latter days, when you ^(H)turn to the Lord your God and obey His voice ³¹ (for the Lord your God is a merciful God), He will not forsake you nor ^(I)destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which He swore to them.

³² “For ^(J)ask now concerning the days that are past, which were before you, since the day that God created man on the earth, and ask ^(K)from one end of heaven to the other, whether any great thing like this has happened, or anything like it has been heard. ^33 (L)Did any people ever hear the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as you have heard, and live? ³⁴ Or did God ever try to go and take for Himself a nation from the midst of another nation, ^(M)by trials, ^(N)by signs, by wonders, by war, ^(O)by a mighty hand and ^(P)an outstretched arm, ^(Q)and by great ^[c]terrors, according to all that the Lord your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes? ³⁵ To you it was shown, that you might know that the Lord Himself is God; ^(R)there is none other besides Him. ^36 (S)Out of heaven He let you hear His voice, that He might instruct you; on earth He showed you His great fire, and you heard His words out of the midst of the fire. ³⁷ And because ^(T)He loved your fathers, therefore He chose their ^[d]descendants after them; and ^(U)He brought you out of Egypt with His Presence, with His mighty power, ^38 (V)driving out from before you nations greater and mightier than you, to bring you in, to give you their land as an inheritance, as it is this day. ³⁹ Therefore know this day, and consider it in your heart, that ^(W)the Lord Himself is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other. ^40 (X)You shall therefore keep His statutes and His commandments which I command you today, that ^[e]it may go well with you and with your children after you, and that you may ^[f]prolong your days in the land which the Lord your God is giving you for all time.”

Breakfast by the Sea

21 After these things Jesus showed Himself again to the disciples at the ^(A)Sea of Tiberias, and in this way He showed Himself: ² Simon Peter, ^(B)Thomas called the Twin, ^(C)Nathanael of ^(D)Cana in Galilee, ^(E)the sons of Zebedee, and two others of His disciples were together. ³ Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.”

They said to him, “We are going with you also.” They went out and ^[a]immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing. ⁴ But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples ^(F)did not know that it was Jesus. ⁵ Then ^(G)Jesus said to them, “Children, have you any food?”

They answered Him, “No.”

⁶ And He said to them, ^(H)“Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish.

⁷ Therefore ^(I)that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment (for he had removed it), and plunged into the sea. ⁸ But the other disciples came in the little boat (for they were not far from land, but about two hundred cubits), dragging the net with fish. ⁹ Then, as soon as they had come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid on it, and bread. ¹⁰ Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish which you have just caught.”

¹¹ Simon Peter went up and dragged the net to land, full of large fish, one hundred and fifty-three; and although there were so many, the net was not broken. ¹² Jesus said to them, ^(J)“Come and eat breakfast.” Yet none of the disciples dared ask Him, “Who are You?”—knowing that it was the Lord. ¹³ Jesus then came and took the bread and gave it to them, and likewise the fish.

¹⁴ This is now ^(K)the third time Jesus showed Himself to His disciples after He was raised from the dead.

Satan Bound 1,000 Years

20 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, ^(A)having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. ² He laid hold of ^(B)the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; ³ and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and ^(C)set a seal on him, ^(D)so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while.

The Saints Reign with Christ 1,000 Years

⁴ And I saw ^(E)thrones, and they sat on them, and ^(F)judgment was committed to them. Then I saw ^(G)the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, ^(H)who had not worshiped the beast ^(I)or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they ^(J)lived and ^(K)reigned with Christ for ^[a]a thousand years. ⁵ But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. ⁶ Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such ^(L)the second death has no power, but they shall be ^(M)priests of God and of Christ, ^(N)and shall reign with Him a thousand years.

Satanic Rebellion Crushed^(O)

⁷ Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison ⁸ and will go out ^(P)to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, ^(Q)Gog and Magog, ^(R)to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea. ^9 (S)They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. ¹⁰ The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone ^(T)where^[b] the beast and the false prophet are. And they ^(U)will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

The Great White Throne Judgment

¹¹ Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face ^(V)the earth and the heaven fled away. ^(W)And there was found no place for them. ¹² And I saw the dead, ^(X)small and great, standing before ^[c]God, ^(Y)and books were opened. And another ^(Z)book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged ^(AA)according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. ¹³ The sea gave up the dead who were in it, ^(AB)and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. ^(AC)And they were judged, each one according to his works. ¹⁴ Then ^(AD)Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. ^(AE)This is the second ^[d]death. ¹⁵ And anyone not found written in the Book of Life ^(AF)was cast into the lake of fire.
